Community Guidelines

  • Liverpool Gaymes Fair

Welcome to Liverpool Gaymes Fair, a joyful celebration of community, creativity, and queer joy through the shared love of games. Whether you’re here to try something new, make friends, or roll some dice, this space is for you — and we want everyone to feel safe, respected, and seen.

These Community Guidelines outline the behaviours and values we ask all attendees to uphold to help make this event welcoming and affirming for all.

  • Be Respectful

Treat everyone with kindness and dignity, regardless of their background, gender identity, sexuality, race, ability, age, or gaming experience.

Be mindful of personal space, pronouns, and boundaries. Ask before touching, hugging, or taking photos of others.

Assume best intentions, but be open to feedback if something you say or do causes harm.

  • We Are Better Together

We are proudly LGBTQ+ centred — all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions are welcome here.

Respect the identities and pronouns of others. If you’re not sure, ask politely or use gender-neutral language.

Be inclusive at your gaming table. Invite others in, explain rules clearly, and make space for different play styles.

  • No Tolerance for Harassment

Harassment, discrimination, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to:

    Misgendering or deadnaming

Racist, sexist, ableist, or homophobic language

    Intimidation or unwanted sexual attention

Deliberate exclusion or mocking of new players

    Aggressive or toxic competitiveness

If you experience or witness any of this behaviour, please report it to an organiser or volunteer immediately. You will be supported.

  • Journey Before Destination

It’s not about winning. It’s about being part of a story together.

Games are more fun when everyone feels welcome and included. Be patient, explain rules clearly, and don’t gatekeep.

Win or lose, treat your fellow players with good sportsmanship and grace.

Be generous with your time and kindness — especially to newcomers and shy folks.

  • Respect the Space

We are very lucky to have access to such a historic venue and one that has ties to inclusivity and shared culture in the local community. It’s an honour to be part of its story and we should do our best to leave the space as we found it.

Be mindful of shared areas, keep spaces clean, and treat furniture, games, and equipment with care.

Clear away your rubbish and respect venue rules (e.g., no smoking indoors).

Return borrowed games and materials in good condition.

  • Speak Up & Support Others

If something doesn’t feel right, or if you need help, support, or just someone to talk to, our volunteers are here for you. You can find them at the info desk or ask any staff member with a badge.

You can also reach out discreetly via hello@liverpoolgaymesfair.co.uk
